STANCA CELL

Cellular-adjective. Intimate to the point where it’s not you anymore. But you are everything and all. If you put aside your experiences, status, beliefs, prejudices, pleasures, desires, sorrows, the defense mechanisms, survival, thoughts that jump like monkeys from branch to branch…if you put all these aside…who are you?

Cellular-adverb. Everything happens according to the intention of the Watcher. I repeat this sentence quite often. It’s a process that I keep challenging. The real is not real if it’s not noticed. And it changes itself as soon as it’s noticed. There’s something that fascinates me about this idea. It may be the transformation. Or the imperceptible space between thought and manifestation.

There is the time machine. What year/day of your professional life would you like to (re)live? / Would you go to the past or to the future?

I’ve been educating myself for a while to Never go to the past or future. To stay here. To listen to my breathing sometimes and go with it, to notice which part of the body is uptight, to ask myself what benefits I have if I act because of Fear and what I lose if I stop giving in to my fears. It’s hard to stay in the present. And it doesn’t work for me. Yet.

The spotlight falls on you. What (new thing) is revealed to the audience? / What would you like the audience to see?

Their reflection.

The last time you woke up smiling was because…?

This morning I’ve made my coffee. I’ve poured myself a glass of water. And I’ve realized that the machine was not working. My intention was to get upset, to complain: “why me? Why does it happen just to myself ?” And the miraculous happenings fit just in a fraction of a second. I’ve noticed that I didn’t put water in the coffee pot. Well? Isn’t it nice to notice a detail (which can be essential) and realize that you only needed a second of attention? So I’ve just had to smile. It was the most logical thing. (I’ll make a note for next time to smile first and then tend to other thoughts)

What dessert would you be for the meal and why?

Pancakes with cheese and hot pepper jam 😊why…well, I think this sweet-salty taste suits me well.

Your autobiography would be titled…?

Wow…hard to be titled. Maybe “I am myself”, or “user manual (work in progress)”, or “turqoise is the new black”, or…”wait a minute, who are we talking about here?”. I don’t know honestly. I think I’m worried about something that has finished, something that has been defined, or maybe the thought that an autobiography should have that level of understanding one’s own story completely, and I don’t think I have it. I’m more comfortable searching…during the process…more than in the result.

Saying good-bye in the rhythm of.. ? in the rhythm of…para ram pararamm para buia babaaa….pui pui puia paa…pa para papaa baba ba bui baba.babaa. ue papaya ue papaya uee… A scat (a vocal improvisation with shades of joy). I imagined a part of the Cellular process. I smiled and improvised. 😊

JENNIFFER CELL

*Cellular can be a noun or an adjective. From the beginning, the name of the project made me think of a noun, because in my generation of 35+ the cell phone as a mobile was a very much dreamed object from the 5th to the 8th grade. Whoever had a cell phone could beep or text someone, you were integrated into a group through the communication object. And it’s the same here. You integrate into the team through the object you present to us. And then the rest of the process is live, it’s organic, it’s the passing of the team through various stages of artistic and non-artistic communication from which a show with its own language is formed in the end.

There is the time machine. What year/day of your professional life would you like to (re)live? / Would you go to the past or to the future?

I would go straight to the past, of course! I’d like to relive the times when professionally I felt natural and comfortable with certain people and others when I felt artistically challenged by other people and somehow bring these people together and make a team! And if I could I’d bring it by the time machine to the present.

The spotlight falls on you. What (new thing) is revealed to the audience? / What would you like the audience to see?

Ohhh…this is hard stuff because everything is old, if I can say so) Honestly, I think I’d like the audience to see all those scenes where I’m not in the spotlight, because I feel that when I’m in the center of attention or focused on something, I turn into various other species, take forms contextualized by my state of mind, by the others’ state of mind and always remain with the feeling that I leave a wrong impression or even impressions. Actually, I’d like the audience to see myself exactly like this: I’m not what I seem to be, I can be different too, but now you’ve got me on a bad moment ))

The last gift given to someone was…..? / The last time you woke up smiling was because…?

It’s a good thing that my birthday is coming and we’re going on vacation!, words said to a very dear person

Of course, I never woke up smiling because in the morning I’m not in a good mood, I’m grumpy and I need coffee to smile.

What dessert would you be for the meal and why?

Tiramisu with an intense taste of coffee and rum/cognac because I like it very very much and I’d like to love myself at least as much once .

Your autobiography would be titled…?

Are we fungi?

Saying good-bye in the rhythm of.. ?

Manu Chao, Me gustas tu

 MARIA CELL

Maria Cell should perhaps give life to the adverb in the project. But when I think of Cellular, what comes to my mind at the same time is modular. The cell is a living, moving unit, so the cell will give life organically, in collaboration with the other cells, and will migrate where life is needed to be discovered, in order to defend and support it.

There is the time machine. What year/day of your professional life would you like to (re)live? / Would you go to the past or to the future?

Is there a cloning machine too? Because I’d go in two directions and stay a bit in the present too. I’d scatter like the atoms in a molecule. It’s the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019 where I’d like to go, with the two editions of  Re-GENERATOR Microfestival and  LaFeminin project (2019 edition) – I miss the courage and hope I had then . There’s also this 2023 I’d stay in for a bit, because it’s like a transition for me and I want to see how it would turn out and where it’d take me, but I’m so curious (and scared at the same time) about 2043 and its robots and my artistic collaboration with them.

The spotlight falls on you. What (new thing) is revealed to the audience? / What would you like the audience to see?

It’s revealed exactly what and how much the audience wants to see. A lump of anxiety that I’d called shyness before, because I didn’t know what it was. I’d like the audience to see a mirror, more than anything else.

The last gift given to someone was…..? / The last time you woke up smiling was because…?

*Last gift: Peppa Pig and soap bubbles plus a rainbow bow and my smile, of course 😂

*I’ve woken up smiling a lot lately – not today because I’ve woken up with a headache – I made a ritual to look on my right and then think about the people who are there for me and the other way round and I feel grateful. I hope it’ll carry on. At the same time, I’m trying to allow myself to wake up grumpy, tired, aware that it probably won’t be the most productive day. And then I smile, if I manage to accept this. 😀

What dessert would you be for the meal and why?

Dessert? I would be a pickle because it’s sour and chases nausea away.

Your autobiography would be titled…?

Ro: Oh, I’m sick again. #genre: comedy, absurd, east European

En: Life’s a Joke. Might As Well Laugh About It

Saying good-bye in the rhythm of.. ?

Pink – Love me anyway

SIMONA CELL

1. Cellular can be an adjective or an adverb. Does the cell (the name) give life to the adjective and the adverb in the project?

Cellular-adjective. Am I who I pretend to be? I can’t take every second an accurate “screenshot” of the effects of my temper, behavior, daily habits or things that excite, revolt, amuse me as a reaction to what I get from the others.

There’s a feeling of weakness in it. And yet, why do I still need to do it? We are all a species full of contrasts and contradictions. Why do we only hydrate the cell with alkaline water? A spiritual coach may share “tips & tricks” on how to neutralize the psycho- emotional PH by “integrating the parts”….it sounds like Camil Petrescu’s Theory of Monads, Leibniz or any other theoretician who treated the absolute.

My grandmother called me Monica. My name is also Ada. Everything may have an explanation.

Simona…Simonica…Monica…Mona…MonAda….hmm….

Cellular-adverb. It determines the circumstances. The framework. Shall I risk exposing myself with everything I keep inside or stay in my safe space that I think I know? Comfort zone or evolution by risking showing my vulnerabilities? Are the weak points really weak? What do you have to learn when you get out of your own cell? Who defines what is wrong or not, what you are allowed to do or not? Does failure exist or is it something defined only in relation to my own fears? Questions. I keep wondering every day.

2. There is the time machine. What year/day of your professional life would you like to (re)live? / Would you go to the past or to the future?

There is nothing to relive. Just to live. I’m neither as yesterday nor the one I was the day before yesterday and tomorrow I won’t be the one I am today. Only your mind can ask you not to give up the feelings you’ve had before. Isn’t this just a sort of cognitive distortion?

I live with all the essential part of my past.

I wouldn’t go anywhere in another age without my presence defined by NOW, so I have nowhere to go.

3. The spotlight falls on you. What (new thing) is revealed to the audience? / What would you like the audience to see?

What I can’t see either, but it’s revealed through myself.

4. The last gift given to someone was…..?

A shot of Redbull. I never have energy drinks. It makes me nervous, so I don’t know if I kindly offered it or just because I simply had nothing to do with that can.

5. The last time you woke up smiling was because…?

I fell into a deep sleep. I didn’t set any alarm and I knew I didn’t have to go anywhere or hurry because I was expected in a certain place. No daily tasks or duties….what, realistically speaking, rarely happens…

6. What dessert would you be for the meal and why?

Absolutely a Tiramisu from Sera Eden…it‘s torn from Heaven.

7. Your autobiography would be titled…?

No title. Any title I chose, would sound as a cliché. Just my name on the cover and that’s it. The ones who had met me before, would remember me even without an autobiography, if I meant something for them.

8. Saying good-bye in the rhythm of.. ?

In the rhythm of something dramatic…old baroque music sung by Jordi Savall or a tune area by Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. La Fortuna.

ALEX C. CELL

1. Cellular-adjective-adverb. Alex Cell brings the balance between the two to life. It takes control to such an extent as to complement each other and give them time to express themselves till they manage to reach each one’s deepness.

2. If I had a time machine I would hide it so no one could find it (not even me, I’d forget about it). I’d rather enjoy the present and let the future surprise me.

3. I’d like them to see the core of my soul and realize that theirs is not different at all. After all, we are just ordinary people.

4. The last time I woke up smiling was when I realized that sometimes my brain doesn’t want to cooperate with me and I just have a silly look. Because…why not?! We make the best of a bad bargain.

5. I would like to be the icing on the cake.

cherry, cherries (feminine noun)

* 1. The fruit of the cherry, small, spherical, fleshy, red or yellow, with a sweet or bitter taste.

6. “Life with Louie” (I know, I’m very original).

7. Bailandooo…

Cellular can be an adjective or an adverb. Does the cell (the name) give life to the adjective and the adverb in the project?

Or noun… We are in the cell phones era…

There is the time machine. What year/day of your professional life would you like to (re)live? / Would you go to the past or to the future?

Because I love my profession, I’d strongly live and relive every day, whether I was in the past, present or future.

The spotlight falls on you. What (new thing) is revealed to the audience? / What would you like the audience to see?

My good mood and being a good laugh. Nothing new.

The last gift given to someone was…..?/ The last time you woke up smiling was because…?

A pile of vegan pancakes made by me in the form of a cake, decorated with raspberries.

I recently woke up smiling, because in my dream there were loved living and dead people.

What dessert would you be for the meal and why?

I think I’d like to be milk chocolate filled with caramel cream because I’ve always loved chocolate and I’m happy to share it with the others.

Your autobiography would be titled…?

ANA TEODORA CELL

I hope it would help to give life to the organism (project) with its specific functions. And I hope not to divide myself ;))

There is the time machine. Would you go to the past or to the future?

It depends on how many times I can stop to visit the future. I’d love to see Andromeda colliding with The Milky Way in five billion years time. But if I could make one more stop, in just five thousand years time, I’d be curious to find out if we survived as a species, and if we still remained petty.

The spotlight falls on you. What (new thing) is revealed to the audience?

That I’m still afraid and I’m still happy.

The last gift given to someone was…..?

My time. Even if I’m listening or baking a cake or knitting something.

What dessert would you be for the meal and why?

No dessert. What you’d had on your plate should have been enough. Oh…but only one pumpkin pie, ok?

Your autobiography would be titled…?

"Please, I don't want to go through 'things that don't kill me but make me stronger' anymore!"

CREATIVE CELLS- BUCHAREST

GEORGE

1. Cells respond to what happens outside their own boundaries by adapting their behavior according to their type: structure and support, growth, communication and transport, metabolism and energy production. What kind of cell are you/do you want to become in the macro-organism of humanity?

An empathetic, balanced, creative cell that generates the state of Joie de vivre, dance and at the same time authenticity. In my ideal world, I’d like people to be more concerned with understanding what they live and what happens around, and that would mean introspection+ questions brainstorming+ hunting answers.

2. The elephant in the room is a gift you cannot sell or offer. What do you do with it?

I talk about it, with it, until I make it smaller and smaller and harmless.

3. What do you think about while travelling alone?

I analyze the world of social life as it is revealed by human individuals. It’s the only definition I know after 3 years of studying Socio and it really defines what I do while travelling alone.

4.One of the funniest situations experienced recently is….. Țipic, țipic, țipic…țipica, țipica, țipica. :)))

5. What do you least expect in the next three years?

To change my job.

6. You have the opportunity to organize a parade for a cause that is important to you. What kind of parade do you organize?

We stop wars all over the world and promote a free, clean world concerned with balance in everything and all.

7. The musical tune you want to hear every time you walk into a room full of strangers is…

Kaoma-Danca Tago Mago

Yeeeeeeee!

1.Cells respond to what happens outside their own boundaries by adapting their behavior according to their type: structure and support, growth, communication and transport, metabolism and energy production. What kind of cell are you/do you want to become in the macro-organism of humanity?

My goal is to learn to be a cell that knows how to communicate effectively through multiple ways and in different places.

2. The elephant in the room is a gift you cannot sell or offer. What do you do with it?

I keep it. But I hide it deeply inside the winter clothes drawer.

3. What do you think about while travelling alone?

Because I use my headphones almost every time, I think about how cinematic everything is and that everything is very opaque because each man on the street has his own life.

4.One of the funniest situations experienced recently is…..

Every time I go shopping with my dad he makes me feel embarrassed. The last time we went to the supermarket together, he put a bag with Elsa and Anna from Frozen, an alphabet and a wooden counter in the trolley…:)))

5. What do you least expect in the next three years?

It’s hard for me to believe that in three years time I’ll be more organized, serious and that I won’t have crazy dating stories anymore (I really think I’ll have more and more).

6. You have the opportunity to organize a parade for a cause that is important to you. What kind of parade do you organize?

Loneliness has become quite a problem for me, and looking around, I think mental health issues too, because they’re more “taken on” now, they are also becoming full-time priorities (they are no longer wrapped up in “I’m okay” and that’s it; people go on learning that it’s totally okay to go to therapy “just because”). I’d like to make a parade with adoptions and donations for dogs in which there are trained dogs (service dogs, emotional support dogs and therapy dogs), practically a kind of circuit in the center of Bucharest, for example, where multiple kennels can participate and people can sit and play with dogs.

7.The musical tune you want to hear every time you walk into a room full of strangers is…

The first minute in How it Ends by DeVotchKa or any drum beat.

1. Cells respond to what happens outside their own boundaries by adapting their behavior according to their type: structure and support, growth, communication and transport, metabolism and energy production. What kind of cell are you/do you want to become in the macro-organism of humanity?

I want to be a cell that brings a positive contribution in the macro-organism (if this is even a word) of humanity. This contribution is based on creativity, good mood and friendship. I’d be the super-creative-positive-cell.

2. The elephant in the room is a gift you cannot sell or offer. What do you do with it?

I’ll play with it. If it’s eatable, I may eat it…

3. What do you think about while travelling alone?

I like to admire the beauty around me. I think about the limits that suddenly appear between me and the other unknown people around. I look out the window and forget about myself. All these and the hope that no one will steal me. That’s because I’ve been living in Romania.

4.One of the funniest situations experienced recently is…..

In the mornings we used to play football in teams of 5, in the park. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a 7-year-old bare-chested, plump, ethnic boy came and started commenting the match like a TV sportscaster. He did a pretty good job even though he didn’t know who we were.

5. What do you least expect in the next three years?

Any illness… God forbid!

6. You have the opportunity to organize a parade for a cause that is important to you. What kind of parade do you organize?

The parade of sensitive people.

7. The musical tune you want to hear every time you walk into a room full of strangers is…

I am a cell that adapts with difficulty, that is clear. But, I am a cell that analyzes a lot until it transforms. When it transforms, it lives well, though.

2. Monetizable Livestream.

3. That there are many houses, places, people and destinies that I’ll probably meet just once.

4. When I found out that there is an expression “to take a stone in your mouth” that everyone knew, but that I hadn’t heard in 30 years time.

5. To have political stability.

6. A parade where we can scream to blow off steam.

7. The opening tune of the song Cult of Personality – Living Colour.

1.Cells respond to what happens outside their own boundaries by adapting their behavior according to their type: structure and support, growth, communication and transport, metabolism and energy production. What kind of cell are you/do you want to become in the macro-organism of humanity?

There’s a very nice analogy between the cells in our body having various functions and the contribution of each individual in the macro-organism of humanity! I’d like to be a “cell responsible for energy production” because I’m able to cope with difficult situations and maintain the flow of energy, even in less pleasant conditions. I’m the person people can count on to be there when they need. I also see myself collaborating with other cells and entities to ensure the efficient distribution of energy throughout the macro-organism of humanity because I can effectively communicate with the others, but I can also mediate other interactions where the need arises in this direction.

2. The elephant in the room is a gift you cannot sell or offer. What do you do with it?

I don’t know exactly what I’d do about the elephant in the room, I guess it depends on the elephant. However I’d like to keep it without feeling forced, to start appreciating it and even see it as an opportunity for development. It would also be ideal to be able to talk to it and find out exactly on what occasion it pays me the visit so that I can understand and integrate it into my life.

3. What do you think about while travelling alone?

Knowing myself, I think I’d do research for what I can do/visit at the destination.

4. One of the funniest situations experienced recently is…..

I can’t remember a concrete funny situation, but I always joke with those close to me that we have a common background and it’s easy to get funny replies, because as you know a successful joke also has a grain of truth.

5. What do you least expect in the next three years?

Hmm…you asked the question the other way around, so I’ll give the answer in the same way. I least expect not to have wishes. I usually have expectations from myself, but I also have from others, even though I know it’s not ok. But realistically speaking, I don’t think I can change this in 3 years time.

6. You have the opportunity to organize a parade for a cause that is important to you. What kind of parade do you organize?

If I were to organize such a parade, I’d do something to protect the environment. I’d like it to be on a route that passes through natural areas or include areas of rich vegetation to emphasize the natural beauty we want to protect and to include concrete actions such as planting trees in deforested forests.

7. The musical tune you want to hear every time you walk into a room full of strangers is…

1. I liked that experiment that showed that if you separate two cells that were together, one will feel what the other one feels, whatever the distance. This is for those who say we are halves.😅

2. First of all, I hide the trinkets😂😂, secondly, I bring it constantly in my life (two cells that separate, but have the same feelings).

3. Recently I had the occasion to travel alone for the first time and I honestly analyzed myself. The thoughts I had were all about the fact that I can rely on myself and that I can get along, no matter the situation. I always believed that, no matter what can happen, I’m there for myself. More than this, I have a certain prayer that I constantly repeat in my mind, over and over, no matter what I’m doing.

4. I wouldn’t have time enough to say all the funny situations I experienced because of my clumsiness (which I honestly don’t know if I really have or it’s just my mom the one who filled it in my head, as I use to believe) but I know that I can always tell my friends about a situation from the category of “Beticism” (that is something that only I can do): to get lost somewhere, to take the tram in the wrong direction, etc.

5. I least expect what I set out to do not to work out (as there’s always doubt). I would have said that I hadn’t expected anyone to admit that Aliens exist, but the American government had other plans.😂😂😂

7. A parade of confidence. For real…I want a million people, in the Constitution Square, shouting: Beatrice, we love you, we want to be like you! 😂😂😂leaving the joke aside, I wouldn’t want a parade, but a show or a concert where people feel good and happy (as my name, which means joy🙃)

7. There are more songs, but now I’m obsessed with a sound from tiktok, which I think also comes from a song and it’s used with parts of movies in which the actresses walk confidently and it sounds something like this: Pretty girls walk like this🙃

L.E.: I’ve looked for the song now, I’m not a fan of the song, I just like this chorus with Pretty Girls walk like this😎

2. I’d do what I do with any other lizard or Fram in the room! We talk, make braids, listen to music, but we also have to go out for a walk. Is that why people look curious at me when I go out? Can they also see Noah’s Ark behind me? (“pun intended”)

3. While travelling, I prefer not to think about anything…”just enjoy the moment, no plans, no rush, no worries”.
