”Reality show”

The television, as represented, denies the viewer the right to consume the content that the television is intended to display. Thus, the viewer becomes a “pseudo-consumer”. The disenfranchisement is depicted by the no-signal screen and the frozen image of the character.

Cristi Boteanu is currently a third-year student, majoring in graphics at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Bucharest. Although graphics have been and are an influential part of his artistic life, he is preoccupied with object installation and new media art. The idea of ​​”consumption” is one of the main themes addressed and is analyzed not only from the point of view of exhausting some materiality but also through consumption, the absorption of interpersonal relationships.
